COVID-19 Self-Isolating Learning Information
As the country continues to battle the COVID-19 Coronavirus, we are aware that, while school is open, some parents have chosen to self-isolate their children because of medical conditions, meaning they are at higher risk. Some are also self-isolating as they show the signs and symptoms of the virus (dry cough & a temperature).
Self-isolation means exactly that. Staying in the home and as far away from people as is possible. Further information can be found here.
We intend to do our best to minimise the inevitable loss of learning that self-isolation and absence from school creates. So if you're choosing to keep your children at home, here's what we recommend:
- Daily reading, writing & number in short bursts of no longer than 20 minutes. A child's attention span is statistically their age plus 5 minutes maximum!
- Keeping learning fun and relevant.
- Keep a picture diary of what your child is learning. We'd love to see what they are doing through Class Dojo!
Our teachers use a resource known as 'Twinkl'. The company provide learning resources for the primary age range. The company have very kindly provided all schools with free access to their wonderful resources during the COVID-19 period. It really is your one-stop-shop to great learning resources.
